We know Christian schools because we’ve lived it. Our team brings more than 150 combined years of experience inside Christian education and nationally recognized expertise in school marketing and communications. We’ve built the departments, managed the campaigns, and worn the hats. That background means we don’t just understand your challenges — we’ve solved them ourselves.

Our History

Legacy Creative was founded by Bryan and Jenna, two marketing professionals who spent years inside Christian school life — building departments, stretching budgets, and learning firsthand what it takes to tell a school’s story well. That experience taught us something most agencies miss: Christian schools aren’t just another client. They have unique cultures, varying sizes teams and skillsets, and a Christ-centered mission that deserves more than a templated approach.

We started Legacy Creative to be the marketing partner we wished we’d had — one that actually understands Christian schools, the rhythm of school life, shows up on campus, and builds strategy around your story, not someone else’s playbook. Every school we work with gets our full attention, because we’ve sat in your seat and we know what’s at stake.

Today we partner with schools across the United States and Canada, providing trusted support for marketing strategy, branding, websites, social media, graphic design, capital campaigns, and more. We’re not here to hand you a deliverable and disappear. We’re here to build something that lasts.

Bryan Winfrey

President & CEO, Co-Founder

Bryan is a marketing and communications strategist with more than a decade of experience serving Christian schools. As co-founder of Legacy Creative, he partners with K-12 schools to build authentic brand stories, drive enrollment growth, and equip small teams to market their schools with confidence. His work is rooted in a simple belief: every Christian school has a story worth telling — most just need the time, tools, and strategy to tell it well.

Before launching Legacy Creative, Bryan built the marketing and communications department at an Arizona Christian school from the ground up. Over the following decade, the school grew from a single high school campus to a multi-campus K-12 program and saw enrollment increase by more than 300%. His background also spans roles in higher education and K-8 Christian schools — experience that gives him a full-picture understanding of how families and institutions think at every stage.

Bryan currently serves as a school board chair and is an active member of the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA). In 2021, he was named one of the 35 Under 35 school communications leaders in the U.S. and recognized as an emerging school public relations leader by the NSPRA. He holds a Master’s degree from Concordia University Irvine and an undergraduate degree from Arizona State University.

Bryan and his wife, Elyse, live in Arizona with their four children. Outside of work, he serves on several education and ministry committees. He enjoys history, museums, attending sporting events, and anything that involves his family.

Jenna Haagsma

Design Director & CCO, Co-Founder

Jenna has spent most of her career working in various marketing roles for schools, churches, and non-profits. Her passion for design developed while studying at Dordt University, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design.

With knowledge in graphic design, website design, email creation, and more, Jenna adds unique skills to Legacy Creative's clients. Her expertise in design and branding has helped schools and non-profits effectively communicate their missions and connect with their audiences.

Jenna and her husband, Brandon, have two daughters. They currently reside in Iowa, where Jenna was born and raised. Previously, they lived in Arizona for four years where she served at two different Christian schools in the Valley. One of them in which she worked with Bryan.

Outside of work, Jenna enjoys playing volleyball, pickleball, and taking her dog on walks on the trails near her home with family. She also has a passion for gardening, interior design, and often spends her free time on DIY projects around the home.

Kelly Clausen

Client Services

Kelly grew up in Oceanside, California, where she attended a Christian school from kindergarten through 12th grade. She went on to earn her B.S. in General Science Secondary Education while competing as a four-year starter on Colorado Christian University’s NCAA Division II volleyball team. After completing her undergraduate degree, she earned her MBA with an emphasis in leadership and gained invaluable experience as a graduate assistant, serving in the Student Activities, Athletics, and Admissions departments. 

Kelly later moved to Arizona, where she started her teaching career at Valley Christian Schools in Chandler. Over the next 13 years, she served in Christian schools across both Arizona and California, growing her skills and leadership in roles ranging from a classroom teacher and coach to a staff trainer and Dean of Student Activities. These experiences strengthened her love for Christian education and deepened her conviction of the importance of raising kids in the light of God’s word. With a broad understanding of how schools operate, she is passionate about helping Christian schools share their stories, expand their reach, and impact more students for the Kingdom of God.

Outside of the office, Kelly loves exploring God’s creation through hiking, kayaking, road trips, and international travel. She also loves reading, playing volleyball, and spending quality time with her friends and family.

Scott Timmer

Strategy

Scott Timmer brings decades of experience in Christian education and leadership to his role as Senior Consultant at Legacy Creative. Scott has demonstrated a passion for fostering excellence in Christian schools. He has led school accreditation teams, developed curriculum, and taught courses.

A celebrated coach, Scott is one of the winningest girls' basketball coaches in Arizona history, with over 500 wins and three state championships to his name. Beyond the court, he has served on numerous Christian school boards, as a church elder, and as a featured speaker at ACSI conventions.

At Legacy Creative, Scott supports schools by strengthening relationships, providing expert consulting, and helping institutions align their missions with impactful strategies for growth.

Outside of his professional work, Scott enjoys fishing, camping, playing board games, and hosting gatherings. He has been happily married to Julie for over 30 years, and together they are proud parents of four Christian school graduates.

David Mehlhorn

Hayden Matykiewicz

Creative Content

Born and raised in Arizona, Hayden has spent her life in Christian education and developed a passion for creativity and storytelling from a young age. A graduate of Valley Christian High School, she was actively involved in student leadership, ministry, and media, helping manage the school’s Student Life social media and content creation.

Now studying Communications with a minor in Social Media at Grand Canyon University, Hayden continues to grow her skills in photography, videography, and design through hands-on work in live event production, church media, and freelance photography.

At Legacy Creative, she combines her experience in social media and visual storytelling to help schools share their mission with authenticity and excellence.
